Video Storytelling at Events

THE POTENTIAL WITH VIDEO
Videos are a great way to tell stories. Stories of change. Stories of real people—the people behind your organization and the people you serve. Stories that show decades of impact in just a couple minutes. At events, videos are also a great tool to focus guests on the program. There are a few different types of videos you can use to effectively capture the impact of your work and engage your audience. We’ve collected some of our favorite special appeal videos, organizational videos and honoree videos for examples of strong video storytelling.

Organizational Videos
Your organization is a resource with a range of programs and people coming together to create change. Telling the story of what you do and how you do it can be complicated. Video is a great way to simplify the story and tell it in a concise, compelling way. Especially if you clearly demonstrate WHY you do the work you do.

Special Appeal Videos
The special appeal is the largest fundraising opportunity at your event. Utilizing video is a great way to focus on one story of transformation that shows your organization as the change agent. Studies show that a single story creates a deeper emotional connection and drives giving because supporters feel they can make a bigger impact. This is not the place to show the range of your programming. It’s the depth of your impact.
